Turn Around Point - Print

Turn Around Point is a work which holds a special connection to one of my favourite local locations. This jetty is where I walk and run to on a weekly basis and upon every occasion the water, tide and shadows from the weathered structure are different but equally captivating to me. In this particular instance the shadowing drew me in with it’s diagonal perspective and the soft reflections of the water upon the sand. It marks the turning point for me in a geographical sense but also symbolises the turning points we often have in our lives when we reach milestones or attain goals and dreams. I particularly like the juxtaposition of the strong jetty timbers in contrast to the soft tones of the water and sand - like life strong contrast often accentuates the beauty that can be discovered in the quieter moments.
